Bombay HC says GST Detention Cannot Continue Beyond statutory period of Section 67(7)

Abubakar Mines and Minerals challenged continued detention of its goods under a prohibition order issued in September 2024. The Department itself admitted that the prohibition automatically came to an end on expiry of the extended statutory period; the High Court therefore directed release of the goods, while expressly preserving the Department's investigation and evidentiary material.
