CBDT Notifies Rules for Foreign Assets Disclosure Scheme

The Central Government has notified the operational rules for the Small Taxpayers' Foreign Assets Disclosure Scheme, 2026, effective 16 August 2026. 

The Rules lay down detailed principles for determining the fair market value of undisclosed foreign assets, prescribe eligibility thresholds, specify the electronic declaration process, provide the applicable forms and establish the procedure for payment and issuance of the final certificate under the Scheme.
