CBIC rationalises the EMI Scheme Documentation Requirements

Circular No. 39/2026-Customs rationalises the documentation prescribed for the EMI Scheme, which provides deferred payment of import duty to eligible manufacturer importers. Several data fields and supporting documents have been removed, while Udyam certificate where applicable, a UDIN-bearing Chartered Accountant certificate and authorisation letter continue to be required.
