CBIC removes Manual Container Documentation

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), through Circular No. 32/2026-Customs dated 11 July 2026, has introduced a significant trade facilitation measure by eliminating the manual submission of documents relating to duty-free imported containers. The Circular provides for automated monitoring through ICEGATE and directs Customs formations and port operators to integrate electronic systems for seamless tracking of container movements.
