CESTAT directs 12 percent Interest entitlement for delayed refunds

The CESTAT, Kolkata held that delayed refund of amounts deposited during investigation carries interest at 12% and not 6%. 

The Tribunal followed the binding precedent of the Calcutta High Court and directed payment of interest at the higher rate.
