CESTAT says Meeting fees not taxable under RCM

The CESTAT, Principal Bench, New Delhi, by its order dated 13 July 2026, allowed the appeal of Oriental Chemical Works and set aside the service tax demand on meeting fees paid to whole-time directors. The Tribunal held that such payments are made in the course of employment and therefore fall outside the ambit of taxable services under the Finance Act, 1994.
