Customs Introduces Mandatory Checks for Health Imports

With integration of CDSCO documents into SWIFT 2.0 still under process, CBIC has directed field formations to exercise due diligence before clearance of specified health-related imports. The new framework places a defined document-verification responsibility on Customs and requires trade to upload the relevant documents on e-SANCHIT to facilitate faster clearance.
