DGFT Notifies 6 new SIONs for Pharma Products

In exercise of powers under Paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023, DGFT has introduced six new SION entries bearing Serial Nos. A-3702 to A-3707 under the Chemical and Allied Product Group. The newly prescribed norms specify the quantity of imported inputs permitted for manufacture and export of designated pharmaceutical products.

The introduction of these norms provides a standardised framework for determining input-output ratios under the Advance Authorisation Scheme and enables Regional Authorities to issue Advance Authorisations directly without seeking separate approval from the Norms Committee. The move is expected to streamline approvals, improve administrative efficiency, and bring greater consistency in processing applications involving the notified products.
