The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), Chennai, has reaffirmed that an Insolvency Professional who attains the age of 70 years during an ongoing assignment does not become ineligible to continue that assignment.
The Tribunal also upheld a limited extension granted for completion of the liquidation process, holding that the objective of value maximisation under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) must prevail over technical objections.
