Executive Summary
Notification No. 05/2026-Central Tax substitutes Rule 19 and changes how amendments to GST registration particulars are filed, processed and approved. An amendment application in FORM GST REG-14 must generally be filed within 15 days of the relevant change, with supporting documents. For changes requiring examination by the proper officer, the rule prescribes a 15-day period for approval or issue of a deficiency notice in FORM GST REG-03. Businesses must not assume that every amendment requires officer approval or that every delay results in deemed approval.
