GSTAT says DRC-01 Cannot Substitute a Statutory Show Cause Notice

Saksham Knowledge Services was proceeded against for alleged ITC and tax mismatches, but the record showed that no SCN had actually been issued to the appellant. GSTAT held that DRC-01 is only an electronic summary of the SCN and cannot independently commence adjudication. The entire proceedings were therefore set aside, without deciding the underlying ITC issues.
