Madras HC says Portal Failure Cannot Deny a Taxpayer the Right to File

The taxpayer had complied with the earlier direction to deposit ₹5 lakh and had attempted to upload the return, butproduced a screenshot evidencing that the portal did not permit filing. 

The Court held that, in these circumstances, the interest of justice required another opportunity and directed portal access, filing within three weeks and completion of assessment thereafter.
