Telangana HC says Arrest is not automatic

The Telangana High Court, by order dated 23 July 2026, granted anticipatory bail to a person summoned in connection with an alleged tax evasion investigation under the Health Security & National Security Cess Act, 2025. 

The Court held that arrest cannot be treated as a routine consequence of investigation and must satisfy the constitutional requirement of necessity.
